New beginnings for getting social at Skeinz

Daffodils-506

Spring time here in Hawkes Bay is all about blossoms, flowers and sunshine, and even though there is still a little snow on the distant hills and the breeze can be a little fresh, Spring in the bay brings a sense of new possibilities.

This has also rubbed off here at Skeinz HQ with this new blog.  We have been pondering the world, yarn, life and more across at our Yarn Kitchen blog for 6 years, but we decided it was time to have something based here, in the heart of Skeinz.com for all those those topic's that are yarn and stitch craft related.  The Yarn Kitchen will continue looking at topics from Farm to Yarn and the goings on behind the scenes.

This will be a place where we can reflect and spin a bit of a yarn (I had to get one really cheesy pun in there) about the topics that catch our eye in fashion, social media and stitch and bitch circles.  We hope to talk about more that just what you see in a short Facebook post or Instagram image and explore people, ideas and innovation that is happening in our thriving craft community.

We want this to be interactive - so if you have an idea of topic's you'd like to see covered - then leave your ideas in the comments - every suggestion helps!
So with all that being said I'd better hustle and start working on content for al of you to get your needles into, because lets face it - I'm always deep in knit!

Cheers Maree

I'd love to see how a number of people have spun your sliver, both the Terrabyte and the Natural. Obviously you'd need to get permission from those who had bought and spun, but I think it'd be cool to see how different people turn the fibre into yarn and how no two skeins will be quite the same

Rude awakening this morning in Gisborne ,NZ, with a big earthquake. All ok. So I'm knitting to soothe me.

Really great to see you are planning a blog, I would love to see how others are using your yarn and also a place to share patterns or ideas. Also it would be a great space to share dyeing ideas since you have a large selection of 'naked' yarns.
thanks and looking forward to regular posts
