Summer Knitting Chic for Less

Contrary to popular belief, many of us do a huge bulk of our knitting over the Summer holidays. The notion of packing away the knitting needles over the warmer weather isn't one even considered by us die-hards, in fact, I do some of my best work across the Summer holidays when I have time to really get stuck into a project whilst chilling at the beach or under a tree watching the kids play.
The hardest thing, I find, is selecting that pattern that is substantial enough to keep me interested, yet simple enough that I won't lose track of where I am at (especially if beverages are involved) and also completed fast enough so I can then move onto something else if so desired.

The latest issue of Knit Wear magazine featured the Remington Street Vest by Andrea Babb. A beautiful example of simple, chic modern knitwear that ticks all my Summer knit boxes. It's a simple rib pattern worked in a chunky gauge, so super speedy to knit, and would be a great piece for the Winter wardrobe.

Better still you could recreate the exact look using a Skeinz yarn for a fraction of the cost. The Skeinz Sunday Morning yarn in White Grey is the perfect yarn to achieve the gauge set in the pattern and right now is just $2.95 a ball, or alternatively, if you fancy a tunic in black - if you're quick you can get our dollar day yarn and knit this tunic for just $16!!
