Celebrating the Classics.
It's funny how colour tastes and trends run full circle. I have now experienced this, having being involved with this business for 12 years, I have seen colours fully rotate around, some lasting longer than others and some flickering like a flame only to be snuffed out a season later.
One trend swinging back around is the classic combination of black and white. Whether it be in solid geometric blocks, plaids, argyle prints, chevron stripes or houndstooth, more and more black and white is gracing the fashion collections often highlighted with a splash of gold.
It was then that we realised that over the years that a number of the black & white yarns had been discontinued or simply not chosen in a number of our collections and we needed to rectify this. So it's with great pleasure that I can introduce you to Rook & Polar. These are the latest editions to the Orb Merino collection, both in DK and Fine weights.
As you can see, these classic contrasts are very happy bedfellows with broody grey's or flirtatious with the rich gold. Perfect for knitting stripes, geometric bold shawls or contrasting patterned colour work. These are now loaded and available online.
Also coming soon is the new Albertine DK machine washable Merino. I'm knitting a new design and sample in this at the moment and if you are going to the Creative Fibre First Light festival in Gisborne you will be the first to see this luscious new yarn.
I talk about both the Orb and the new design on my latest video, now available on our You Tube channel HERE
