Purl Foundry Duo Tone Cardigan

Seamless raglan cardigan

$18.00

Only 7 left in stock

With a nostalgic nod to the 80’s, this cardi was designed to be like a cosy, embracing hug. The Duo Tone Cardigan features raglan sleeves, oversize fit, hip length hem and balloon cuffs with an optional colour change in the sleeve.

Knit from the top down, it’s a quick and simple knit with zero seaming. Once finished, the neckline is picked up and knit for just a few rows to complete the cardigan.

Suitable for Intermediate level knitters and above. Just know that hairy yarn is often tricky to unravel when you make a mistake, so patience is needed and I wouldn’t recommend mohair for your first ever cardi/sweater pattern.

Fit & Yarn Details

I recommend a mohair or mohair blend yarn in 12 ply/Bulky weight. For our sample we used Touch Yarns 12 ply Mohair OR you could try Rowan Tweed Haze 12ply OR Mohair & Possum Store Cowgora Hills Yarn.

Finished Bust Measurements (excl neckband): cm = 82.5 (87.5, 91.5, 96.5, 101.5, 105) (110, 115, 119, 124, 129) / inches = 33 (35, 36.5, 38.5, 40.5, 42) (44, 46, 47.5, 49.5, 51.5)

Yarn Quantity: metres = Colour #1: 567 (588, 601, 627, 693, 708) (729, 752, 817, 842, 861) / yards = 621 (644, 658, 686, 758, 775) (798, 823, 894, 921, 942) yards
Colour #2: 109 metres / 120 yards for all sizes.

If omitting the colour change, just add together the meterage/yardage requirements for both colours in your size.

Needles: 5.5 mm and 4.5 mm circulars with an 80 cm cord.

NOTE: The body is knit flat but the sleeves are worked in the round using circular needles and the magic loop method. If you prefer to use DPNs on the sleeves then you will also need a set of 4 DPNs in each needle size above.

Gauge: 16 sts x 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch after blocking.
