2017 is a new year for Skeinz with new possibilities.
We wanted to drill down on our current ranges and take a long hard look at what works and what doesn’t and then in the words of The Clash decide “Should it stay or should it go?”.
Our focus is to keep things fresh and interesting, so that means new yarns, new colours and new formats! BUT in order to do this we must make room so some ranges are leaving for good – we will start updating you on what going over the next few weeks, but what we can tell you is pretty much everything currently featured on the Sale page is going, so stock up now!
The Shipping News…
This year we have had to reassess our shipping and handling charges. This is a result of Skeinz fixed costs increasing dramatically over the last few years.
We have never had a shipping price increase since our inception and we are quite proud of this but it has reached a point where we are unable to sustain the free freight over $50 status. However we have now introduced a subsidised flat rate shipping fee. This slight increase is a way for us to maintain our business health and continue to produce great quality yarns and at value for money prices!
Our new shipping policy is a flat rate charge regardless of amount spent across all regions of New Zealand and Australia including rural delivery.
This consists of:
New Zealand - $4.95 per parcel
Australia - $14.95 per parcel
Skeinz will still be subsidizing some of this cost for you. The new freight charge equates to a single ball of yarn across a whole order for NZ based orders (in fact it is cheaper than our sub $50 shipping rate previously) and a couple of balls of luxury yarn for those across the ditch.
International shipping (excluding Australia) will be charged on a weight basis and will be applied at checkout.
Improved delivery service and easy fixed rate pricing from March 13th
The new freight system will be applied from March 13th 2017 – so you can still order now to take advantage of the “free freight over fifty” for a little while longer.
We have also changed our shipping carrier in order to provide our customers with a more efficient service resulting in our yarn in your hands faster!
Our aim was to keep the charge for shipping as transparent and as simple and as pain free as possible, which reflects our price change.
Many of you have been asking for the exact date of our annual sale. This will be at the tail end of March. There will be another post with more news on the sale, so do not worry! There will be information available on this blog and also on our Facebook page & newsletter, so keep an eye out!
